Langsat – Discus about Various Types of their Health benefits

About Langsat

Langsat (Lanium domesticum) is native to western Southeast Asia and is cultivated for its edible fruit. Chinaberry (Melia azedarach), also known as pearl tree and Persian lilac, is an Asian ornamental plant with purple fruits, which usually grows in many tropical and subtropical areas.

Description of Langsat

The Langsat tree has a straight trunk that can reach 30 meters and a width of 75 centimeters. It grows in a unique way, displaying its buttress roots above the ground. The bark varies in color between red and brown, with light and dark spots along its length. It has a lot of milky resin.

The dark green leaves of the plant are elliptical-oblong or oval with a prominent midrib. They have a shiny, slightly leathery surface but a low surface. They are about 7 to 20 inches long, usually grow in irregular numbers and are arranged in a pinnate pattern. The tip is about nine to twenty inches long, with about six to seven additional leaflets. The leaves are about 5 to 12 millimeters long.

The white to purple flowers usually grow in hairy clusters hanging from old stems or branches. These clusters have hairs 10 to 30 cm long and the branches below have bisexual flowers.

The fruit is an oval or ovoid-oblong berry two to five in diameter. It has velvety, leather covered with fine yellow fur and has milky latex. The thickness of the fruit skin varies between cultivars, from two to six millimeters.

The unripe fruit is a dull green, which turns yellow or brown. It resembles a small potato in appearance and grows in bunches similar to grapes. The berry consists of about three pods surrounded by a white aril. They are flat, brown-green, two to three cm long and one to two cm wide. They taste bitter and stick to the flesh, which can cause bitter flesh.

Whether you are in the middle of a desert trip and you are harassed by bugs or even scorpions or just hanging around your house. Langsat plants, especially the bark, can be used as medicine to treat insect bites or scorpion stings. To use the bark: start by removing the starch stored in the bark. The starch is then applied to the insect or scorpion bite and left to dry. Do this treatment several times until the swelling is no longer swollen and completely healed.
